New Internship Opportunity: Video Production Assistant
The Ann Arbor Film Festival is looking for a Video Production Assistant! This internship position requires a commitment of 12-15 hour per week. Responsibilities include shooting and editing video interviews, and engaging with the AAFF marketing committee to conceive and create videos that advance public awareness of the activities of the AAFF. Video production, interviewing, and editing skills are a must. The intern will also have the opportunity to act as a member of the screening cadre for film submissions for the festival. Other assignments may be given depending on candidate interest and organizational need.
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and dependable individual who enjoys working with others and has an outgoing personality with excellent communication skills. The candidate should be attentive to detail, highly organized, willing to learn, and a keen interest in experiencing the world of nonprofit media arts. While basic experience is required in shooting and editing video, as well as interviewing, the candidate will have the opportunity to build on their knowledge and skills in these areas.
All interns receive a full pass for festival week and are expected to be on hand both to assist with a wide range of tasks, as well as to watch films. Because festival week (March 23–28, 2021) is all-consuming and the ultimate goal of the yearlong workflow, a minimum of 20 hours of participation is expected during that week. During this time, interns will work as a support for the AAFF staff. Feedback and reflections in the form of a “wrap report” are the final assignment.
