Giving Tuesday
GivingTuesday was created as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good, give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. On this GivingTuesday, a day of global generosity, we hope you’ll dedicate your support to the mission of North America’s longest-running experimental film festival, the Ann Arbor Film Festival!
New Initiatives
With your gift, you help us support bold and visionary filmmakers, advance the art forms of film and new media, and engage diverse audiences with remarkable cinematic experiences. Your help also allows us to carry out new initiatives to benefit filmmakers, including submission fee discounts for BIPOC filmmakers and for the first time ever, paying artists to show their films in competition. Last year, we hosted our very first virtual film festival, and are building on what we learned to create an experience that resonates even more with AAFF’s spirit of community. Mark your calendars for the 59th AAFF, scheduled to take place online, again, March 23-March 28, 2021!
Treasured History
Bending minds since 1963 and founded by artist George Manupelli, the AAFF is internationally recognized as a premier forum for independent filmmakers and artists. Alumni filmmakers screening their work throughout the festival's illustrious history have included George Lucas, Yoko Ono, Gus Van Sant, and Andy Warhol.
