Filmmaker, Filmmaker, Come Stay in my Home: How to Become an AAFF Host!

With the end of the year in sight, we at AAFF understand that the holiday season can be especially chaotic. Nevertheless, as this year winds down we are setting our sights on exciting things. The 61st Annual Ann Arbor Film Festival is just around the corner, and we need the help of our generous and lovely Ann Arbor Film Festival community! We are looking for people who are willing to accommodate some of our guest filmmakers who are traveling from across the country and from around the world to Ann Arbor for festival week!

If you have hosted in the past or considered it, have some extra space that you don’t know what to do with, or you just want to meet interesting people and talk about amazing films, then please consider becoming a filmmaker host! Housing our visiting filmmakers in the wonderful homes of area residents is a big part of what makes the AAFF an unforgettable experience and distinguishes us from so many other festivals. Taking on a filmmaker might just be the start of an amazing connection and friendship that will last a lifetime!

If you aren't able to become a host this year, please share this post with anyone you think would be interested! If you are interested, please let us know as soon as possible. You can fill out the form at the link below, or send an email to guestservices@aafilmfest.org.

To confirm your availability to host, please complete this online form. Your information goes directly to us and remain confidential. Attending filmmakers will complete detailed questionnaires so that we can best match hosts to filmmaker guests, making this an amazing opportunity for all involved.

And don’t forget about some amazing perks if you decide to host a filmmaker! By agreeing to host, you will receive AAFF pass(es), invitations to special AAFF events leading up to and during the festival, and most importantly… the chance to make a lasting connection with an amazing member of the AAFF filmmaking family!
