Are you ready to gain real-world experience in the arts, film, or event production industries? The Ann Arbor Film Festival (AAFF) is looking for passionate, creative, and reliable interns to join the team preparing for its 64th Ann Arbor Film Festival, happening March 24–29, 2026.

And no—you don’t have to be an experimental film buff to apply. We're seeking students and emerging professionals pursuing degrees or experience in marketing, communications, digital media, graphic design, and related fields who want to grow their skills in a collaborative, fast-paced arts environment.

What’s the AAFF Internship All About?

Interns are at the heart of what makes the festival a success. You’ll work alongside a small, passionate team, support innovative programming, and contribute directly to an internationally recognized celebration of bold, boundary-pushing cinema.

Internships run from summer 2025 through April 2026, with flexible hours during the year and increased involvement in the weeks leading up to and during the festival.

Internship Roles Available

We offer a range of positions designed to help you build valuable skills and experience in your area of interest:

  • Digital Media – Capture and edit video and photo content, manage media archives, and create engaging visuals for online platforms.

  • Graphic Design – Help shape the visual identity of the 64th festival season through digital and print design.

  • Marketing & Communications – Develop messaging strategies, manage social media, and connect with press outlets.

  • Operations – Coordinate logistics, schedules, and internal systems that keep the festival running.

  • Outreach – Engage community partners, promote festival access, and grow audience relationships.

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience in a internationally respected arts organization

  • Professional development and skill-building opportunities

  • A network of creative peers, artists, and mentors

  • College credit (pending your institution’s approval)

  • A unique opportunity to contribute to a historic cultural event

What We’re Looking For

The ideal intern is:

  • Detail-oriented and organized

  • A strong communicator

  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

  • Motivated to learn and adapt in a creative, collaborative setting

Most positions offer remote flexibility leading up to the festival, but in-person availability during the festival week (March 24-29) 2026 is required.
