AAFF PRESENTS: FUTURE LANGUAGE: The Dimensions of VON LMO
Another month, another AAFF PRESENTS! This month we are excited to offer FUTURE LANGUAGE: The Dimensions of VON LMO. The film will be available to rent on September 9 on our website. The film is free for everyone to watch.
This month's film offers a very interesting look at a life unlike many others. FUTURE LANGUAGE: The Dimensions of VON LMO is a distorted portrait of an artist that explores storytelling, ego, delusion, conviction, and memory. VON LMO is a musician/artist and self-proclaimed alien hybrid who was a part of the late ’70s New York No Wave music scene. Between trips to his home planet of Strazar and multidimensional travel, VON has also spent some very real time in prison and on the streets of Earth. Challenged with translating his Future Language for audiences across the galaxy, Lori Felker, filmmaker and VON LMO fan, gets sucked into VON’s orbit and finds herself lost in his story.
Lori Felker, a decorated director in the way of film festivals is a multifaceted artist. Felker’s moving image work focuses on the ways in which we process, share and disseminate information, via screens, dreams, gestures, games, and dialogue. By employing and pushing these structures, she attempts to study the ineloquent, oppositional, delusional, frustrating, and chaotic qualities of human interaction.
This interview with Von Lmo from 1994 will give you a good idea of what’s in store!
The next film will be released on October 14, stay tuned for more details!
