AADL Now Showing AAFF Films!

The Ann Arbor District Library (AADL) is now streaming films from the Ann Arbor Film Festival! Walk for Me and My Private Life II, both of which screened at the 55th festival in 2017, have just become available for members of the AADL to watch online.

The films were part of Out Night, a Films in Competition program that celebrates queer cinema by highlighting recent experimental films with LGBTQ themes. Walk for Me by Elegance Bratton is a contemporary coming-out story set in present-day New York City. My Private Life II by Jill Daniels features a powerful split-screen view of the effect of the filmmaker’s father’s unacknowledged sexuality on her Jewish family history. Daniels’ film was the recipient of the 55th AAFF Best Experimental Film award.

Part of the mission of AAFF is “to promote bold, visionary filmmakers through the advancement of film and new media art…,” and this partnership with the AADL is one more way to support the work of experimental and avant-garde filmmakers.
