AAFF & UMS TEAM-UP TO BRING VR EXPERIENCE THROUGH YOU
Through You, a new live-action VR experience exploring “love across a lifetime,” co-directed by Lily Baldwin and Saschka Unseld, will be an ongoing installation throughout the festival! The presentation will feature in two different locations and unique methods for viewing. The first will be in the lobby of the Power Center as a Renegade Lobby Experience for UMS's presentation of Nederlands Dans Theater and will be screened on two glass globes (March 20-24). The second will take place in two study rooms at North Quad Space 2435 (105 S. State St.) and be experienced on individual VR headsets. The installation is presented in partnership with the University Musical Society, with the U-M School of Information serving as an AAFF Education Partner. Come enjoy a free, public reception for this and other AAFF installations on the festival's opening day, Tuesday, March 20, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., in Space 2435. A salon discussion about Through You will then be held in Space 2435 at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, with Lily Baldwin in attendance. The salon is presented in partnership with the Detroit women’s filmmaker collective Final Girls, and members of Final Girls will join Baldwin as part of the salon discussion.
