ANIMATED FILMS FROM 54TH AAFF SHOWING AT TRAVERSE CITY FILM FESTIVAL

A full program of animated shorts from the 54th AAFF, "Animated at the Ann Arbor Film Festival," is showing tonight, Wednesday, July 27, and Saturday, July 30, at the Traverse City Film Festival. Our Executive Director Leslie Raymond will introduce both screenings. Other films showing over the course of the week include The Event by Sergei Loznitsa, which won the 54th AAFF Michael Moore Award for Best Documentary Film, Fundir by Allison Cekala, and the 54th AAFF Manupelli Founder's Spirit Award-winner We Chose the Milky Way by Eva Marie Rødbro.

Founded in 2005 by Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, the Traverse City Film Festival, like the AAFF, is dedicated to preserving the art form of cinema and presenting films in new and exciting ways.

The TCFF offers screenings in innovative spaces around Northern Michigan -- including the Open Space program (this year focusing on films written and/or directed by women), which takes place on the grass next to the Grand Traverse Bay, and Movies on a Boat, which screens films aboard a Nauti-Cat on the Bay -- amongst panels, discussions, and events for Festival attendees.

If you're in Traverse City, be sure to check it out!
