NEA AWARDS GRANT TO AAFF!

We are excited to announce that The National Endowment for the Arts has chosen the Ann Arbor Film Festival for a $15,000 Art Works Grant, which is an enormous help as we work towards our 53rd Festival, March 24-29, 2015.

The AAFF received one of 61 national awards in the Media Arts category, and is one of 30 Michigan organizations to be funded. The Art Works grant reinforces our efforts to present new works by artists and filmmakers.

A very special thank you goes out to our partners, the Michigan Theater and the University of Michigan Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design, for supporting our application.

The National Endowment for the Arts was established by Congress in 1965 as an independent agency of the federal government. To date, the NEA has awarded more than $5 billion to support artistic excellence, creativity, and innovation for the benefit of individuals and communities. The NEA extends its work through partnerships with state arts agencies, local leaders, other federal agencies, and the philanthropic sector. "Art Works" refers to three things: the works of art themselves, the ways art works on audiences, and the fact that art is work for the artists and arts professionals who make up the field.
