The AAFF is proud to partner with the UM Stamps School of Art & Design's


Penny Stamps Distinguished Speaker Series.


All events in the series are free and take place Thursdays at 5PM
at the historic Michigan Theater.


September 29: Multi-instrumentalist, composer, and lead singer of the band DEVO of the 1980s single “Whip It” fame Mark Mothersbaugh will be in conversation with Adam Lerner, the author of Mark Mothersbaugh: Myopia.

The 14th AAFF Best of Festival award was presented to The Truth about De-Evolution, a short film about DEVO directed by Chuck Statler. Watch it here

October 6: Please join us for a performance by award-winning animator Miwa Matreyek who specializes in intermedia performance mixing the tangible with the intangible. Matreyek will also perform on Friday, October 7 at 7:00PM at Dreamland Theater in Ypsilanti.
