My Heart is an Idiot World Premiere

Please join the AAFF at the Michigan Theater for the world premiere of My Heart is an Idiot, a romantic documentary that spans two years and over a hundred cities. The film captures the road-tripping lifestyle of Ann Arbor's own Davy Rothbart (FOUND Magazine, This American Life) who looks for love in all the right places, and in all the wrong ways. My Heart is an Idiot is the first feature-length film by David Meiklejohn, who worked on the film while living in Ann Arbor.

Follow Davy as he seeks advice on his tortured love life from people he meets (Zooey Deschanel, Ira Glass, Newt Gingrich, Davy's mom, and others), and attempts to follow that advice, with comic and surprising results. My Heart is an Idiot is a hot mess disguised as a love poem, weaving together multiple stories to illustrate the joys and dangers of romantic pursuit.
